Longest Night: A Service of Healing and Remembrance

Thu, December 21, 2017

Longest Night: A Service of Healing and Remembrance will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21.

Because there is darkness even in a season of hope, First Christian Church is planning a service on the longest night of the year, Dec. 21. For those who dread the holidays, for those who have lost loved ones, and for those who struggle with seasonal depression, join us to acknowledge our pain.

Leading us in worship on the longest night will be Mark Whitley who will be playing music, along with Ami Fletcher, who is a friend of Megan's and a Disciple who lives in Springfield, TN. Ami lost her beautiful & talented daughter to a rare disease when she was a freshman in college. Ami has recently been certified as a Spiritual Director and will be available after the service for anyone who wants to learn more about spiritual direction or about her own journey through grief and the holidays. Megan & Kyle will lead along with lay people (please let us know if you would like to have a speaking part.) We are very happy for Ami to join us and offer the meditation on hope, healing, and what the holidays mean to her.
