Morning Circle

The Christian Women's Ministries group (formerly known as CWF) meets at 10 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month, September through June, at the back of Carter Hall at the church (although in December we have our meeting at the home of a member of the group). All women of the church are welcome and encouraged to come to the meetings.

The group is part of the International Disciples Women's Ministries (IDWM) whose purpose is "to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ and to provide a channel through which women in the congregations and the regional Women’s Ministries in the United States and Canada, may be joined in fellowship and find means for effective participation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)."

The Christian Women's Ministries group holds a bazaar in November each year (with the help of the whole church) which helps fund the many projects supported by the women. In the past year, the group has bought a dishwasher for the church, helped fund a women's retreat at Barren River State Park, made donations to the local Boys & Girls Club, provided food for the Salvation Army Lunch Plan once a month, and given a monthly pledge to Basic Mission Finance of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). If you are interested in learning more, you can contact our faithful & always energetic President of Disciples Women at FCC, Mary Alice Holt.

It is amazing what can happen when a bunch of women get together!

MOSAIC – Evening Group

In the fall of 2013 several women of the church decided to start a “Bunco” group and meet monthly in one another’s homes. We quickly learned that much more than Bunco was desired when we never actually played a game and instead ended up talking the entire time.

Our evening women’s group, "MOSAIC" (Making Our Souls Alive in Christ) meets in homes each month with the purpose of deepening our spiritual lives through friendship and learning new practices of prayer. If you are interested in learning more you can contact Melissa Young.

Women’s Retreat

Last spring we had our first Women’s Retreat at Barren River State Park. We joined with Crestwood Christian Church and enjoyed worship, crafts, Zumba, games, food, and friendship with women of all ages. Stay tuned for information on our next Women’s Retreat!
